Collaborative Solutions, Inc. (CSI) is a nonprofit organization that specializes in community and organizational development strategies to improve the lives of low-income persons with special needs. Located in Birmingham, Alabama, CSI offers technical assistance, organizational capacity development, leadership development, community organization, local and statewide advocacy for special needs populations, and research and evaluation services to communities and organizations. CSI focuses on a variety of special needs issues, including HIV/AIDS, homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, domestic violence, employment, and housing.

Currently CSI manages grants funded through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Department of Justice (DOJ). CSI is a technical assistance provider for the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) and the Special Needs Assistance Programs (SNAPS) National Technical Assistance program.

CSI believes lasting solutions come through partnerships. We work with Training and Development Associates (TDA) in conducting technical assistance for HOPWA and SNAPS. We work with TDA, the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) and Technical Assistance Collaborative (TAC) to provide capacity building services to organizations in rural parts of the country through HUD's Rural Capacity Building program. CSI and TDA will be working together on the DOJ, Office on Violence Against Women grant awarded in 2015.
